BareMinerals BarePro Liquid Foundation Review

Hello friends! I have been away from my blog for a while, mainly because I’ve been dealing with a lot of cystic acne and really didn’t want photos of myself out there for the world to see. It had been a while since my last breakout, and I was feeling hopeful that I had put my pimply days behind me… Until I woke up with a cyst swollen to the size of a grape under my eye. Anyways, my skin has mostly cleared up, so I am back to makeup reviews. For today’s post, I am testing out the BareMinerals BarePro Performance liquid foundation. This retails for $34, but I actually received it complimentary for testing purposes. That being said, you guys know how brutally honest I am with makeup reviews, and this will be no different.

I was pretty excited to see that I was receiving a foundation voxbox from Influenster, because the one I am currently using has become too dark for my skin. Most people switch to a darker shade during the summer… But I live in Florida, work from home, and refuse to step into the sun in 100 degree humid weather. So… I’m pale af right now.

When I opened the package, I was impressed by how luxurious the bottle looked and felt. Everything from the sleekness and weight to the bottle, to the way the lid slightly suctions on, feels expensive. At $34 this foundation is definitely not a budget price, but it’s cheaper than  a lot of foundations out there.

Now, this foundation has SPF 20 (for those who venture outdoors occasionally), and is supposed to have matte, full coverage finish. When I pumped it onto my hand, I noticed a huge similarity in consistency between this and the Mac Mineralize SPF 15 foundation. I had high hopes for the MAC foundation when I first bought it, but it’s satin finish, oxidation, and medium coverage did not bode well with my oily, acne prone skin.

Where the Mac Mineralize let me down, the BarePro excelled. It really is full coverage, and does dry down to a matte finish. It’s not a cakey matte that settles into your crinkles, but more of a soft matte… but not as soft as satin finish! It just makes me look like I am having a really good skin day. The application was very smooth and easy, and this is super blendable. I usually apply my foundation with a brush, and then go over it with a beauty blender to get rid of any streaks or excess product. Today, I didn’t even have to reach for the beauty blender.

Here are pictures of my face before and after foundation:

They sent me a perfect color match! I am using the shade Cashmere. It love the way it looks and feels on my skin! This did an amazing job of smoothing over my blemishes and masking my redness. I actually like this foundation more than my holy grail Too Faced Born This Way foundation!

My only complaint was that it cakes up around my nose, but that could have been an error with my application.

After applying the foundation, I finished my full face of makeup.

I think this is an amazing foundation, and the pictures speak for themselves. It minimizes my texture so well, and I feel airbrushed when I look in the mirror! This foundation is giving the coverage and finish I want, and just making me feel totally confident while wearing it. It is a little pricy at $34; if you are looking to save money, the No7 Stay Perfect foundations will deliver results almost as good – and for around half the price. But if you have a little extra to spare, I would go with the BarePro foundation. Not only does it look gorgeous, but it also contains ingredients that are supposed to reduce the size of your texture 50% in 6 weeks. I haven’t used the foundation long enough to tell, but I’ll keep you all updated! I hope you found this review useful. šŸ™‚
