The Time I Got Sick Of Having Yellow Teeth [White With Style Review]

Hello friends! For the longest time, I’ve struggled with insecurity about my yellow teeth. I don’t know why they are so yellow; I brush three times a day and go to the dentist regularly, and I don’t smoke or drink coffee. Who knows, maybe it’s genetic. Even though I know I am trying my best to take good care of my teeth, I still get really embarrassed about the way they look.  Well, I am sick and tired of letting my teeth dictate the way I smile, so I am partnering with White With Style and trying their at-home teeth whitening kit.

White With Style sent me the kit for free in exchange for an honest review. My opinion remains unbiased, as always.

Okay, let’s start with a before picture of my teeth. They kind of have an ombre effect; yellow towards the top, and white towards the bottom. My canine teeth are especially bad.

before

Besides the yellowness, my teeth are pretty decent. They are strong and mostly straight, and I have never needed braces. My front teeth are large and rounded, but it’s nothing I feel too bad about; if anything it makes me feel like Hermione Granger. 😉

Now, on to what I received from White With Style! They sent me their Sparkle White Professional Home Teeth Whitening Kit, which retails for $269.99. I actually have an affiliate code for this, VICTORIAF, which lets you purchase this for $28 . I will talk more about this at the end of the post, when I discuss the pros and cons of this service.

1

Everything was sent to me in a sleek white bag. I was a little intimidated by everything that came inside, because it would be very complicated. However, the steps were quite easy! Inside, I received an LED light, whitening gel, teeth molds, Vitamin E swabs, a whitening shade guide, and instructions.

2

First, I had to make the teeth molds. I brought some water to a boil, and let it cool off for a few minutes, I then placed the top and bottom teeth molds in the water for 10 seconds. This softened them up, so I could mold them to fit my teeth. Once they were soft, I put them in my mouth, and sucked all the air out of them. I got a nice tight fit, so that way the gel would stay on my teeth instead of dripping into my mouth.

3

After I finished the mold, I placed a small drop of teeth whitening gel in each tooth compartment. The instructions said to use less than you think you need, so I only used a tiny amount. I actually have enough gel left for about 9 more treatments! I then carefully placed the molds on my teeth, and wiped off my gums with the Vitamin E swabs to get rid of any excess gel. It’s super important you don’t get the gel on your gums, because it will cause gum irritation. Irritation caused by teeth whitening kits is actually classified as a chemical burn, and the area will become sore, turn white, and flake off. It does return to normal within 24 hours, so unless you are a chronic teeth-whitener there should be no lasting damage. Still, I would strongly advise you to be cautious and take your time when inserting the molds.

Next, I activated the gel by holding an LED light in front of my mouth. The instructions were unclear as to if I was supposed to use the LED light for the entire treatment, so I compromised and used it for 5 minutes. My whole treatment lasted for 15 minutes. You can keep the gel in your mouth for up to 30 minutes, but this was my first time whitening my teeth and I wanted to take it easy. I will keep it in longer when I do additional treatments.

4

After 15 minutes, I took out the molds and rinsed my mouth thoroughly. I was amazed by the difference in my teeth! Before, they were very yellow towards the top and white towards the bottom and now the ombre effect is gone. They are not blindingly white, but the teeth shade guide shows that they are about 3 shades whiter. I plan on doing a second treatment in 2 weeks, and I will keep you guys updated.

And here’s a further away shot.

Okay, let’s discuss the pros and cons of this service. Obviously, it works. A lot of my yellowness lifted in only 15 minutes. White With Style claims that you can get up to seven shades lighter in 30 minutes, and based on my results this seems to be accurate. Furthermore, it is easy to use, and you receive a lot of gel; enough for at least 10 treatments.

I do have some qualms with White With Style however. One is just about teeth whitening in general; as I mentioned before, it can be detrimental to your gums if you are not careful. This is the case with most kits, and isn’t White With Style’s fault. My second issue is their pricing. Their kit is on their website for $269, and my code VICTORIAF gives it to you for $28. This seems like a crazy discount, but it seems to be deceptive pricing. They sell their kits on Amazon for $30 and for $18.99 on Groupon. It appears that they are hiking their prices way up on their site, and then giving a drastic coupon code to make it seem like an awesome deal – when they are really selling it for it’s true value. This is a common marketing ploy, but that doesn’t mean I agree with it.

That being said, $28 is still a great price for a teeth whitening kit that is easy, and works. Overall, I really liked this kit, and I will continue to use it until my teeth are a few shades whiter. If you want to have whiter teeth as well, I would encourage you to check out White With Style’s website. I hope you found this review useful!

I have the same issue as you with yellow teeth… and I take immaculate care of the so I don’t know why my teeth are like that. It’s so frustrating!
It looks like the kit works, so that’s great! It is annoying though when companies sell a product for a very expensive price but then offers a crazy discount. It really assumes that consumers are dumb and won’t notice that sort of thing!

It’s especially frustrating when people try to give you tips on proper dental hygiene. Lol!

And, I do think the price thing is annoying. When I was working with White With Style, they tried to tell me I could only post positive comments about the product. I wrote back and was like, um no, I’m going to give my honest opinion. Lucky for them the only thing I had to complain about was the pricing, and not the product itself!

Totally agree. My husband brushes his teeth once a day and never flosses and he has nicer teeth than me, and he will sometimes do that. Just no, I floss and brush more than him, it’s infuriating!
That’s so sleasy!! A company should never ask you to tell only part of the truth so they get a good review. At least ot really did work for you!

It has been 48 hours since I’ve used the kit, and I haven’t experienced any sensitivity yet. I didn’t keep it on for the maximum amount of time though; I wanted to be gentle because it was my first time ever trying to whiten my teeth.

Thanks for sharing! I too have healthy teeth that just never seem to brighten up. I always want to whiten my teeth, but worry it might be damaging. Maybe I’ll look into this – I’d love to wear red lipstick and know my teeth are sparkling!

Very nice review. By the way you can put the LED light in your mouth instead of holding it up. Then you will be able to keep it in the whole 30 minutes instead of getting your hand tired.
