Wet n Wild Dual-Ended Contour Stick [Review + Swatches]

Hello friends! The KKW contour kits have been all over the internet lately, and I am not prepared to shell out $48 for it… Especially when there have been very mixed reviews. Instead, I decided to try out an extremely affordable dual-ended contour stick. This Wet n Wild stick is only $4.99! Let’s hope it has good results. Note: I read many reviews today of buyers saying that their faces broke out in a rash after using this product. If you have very sensitive skin, please test this product on a small area of skin before using it!

I purchased the shade light/medium. The contour shade is a lot darker and more warm toned than it appeared on the website. Compare these two images:

Also, I have the ends twisted all the way in the picture above. So, that’s how much product you get. Altogether, it has .28 oz of product, which is the exact same amount as the KKW stick. Below, I have swatched the contour end (top), and the highlight end (bottom).

All right, here is my non-contoured face. Overall, I would like to shrink my forehead, slim down my nose, tighten under my chin, and give myself the illusion of cheekbones.

Here is the contour map I created to achieve those goals. As you can see, the contour shade comes across looking almost like red clay. This worries me, because I definitely prefer a grey tinged contour over a red tinged contour.

When I tried to blend it in, my contour looked quite orange. So, I ended up overblending. It got rid of the orange pigment, but that also meant that it didn’t have great sculpting effects. However, I really liked the highlighting end, as it did a great job brightening my face. Here is the after picture of my face. You can see that my forehead does look smaller, and my nose looks a tiny bit slimmer. Overall though, the effects are not as strong as I would like.  I think if the tone had been cooler, I would not have had to completely blend it out and it would look better.

And, here is the after effect. There is a very subtle effect on my cheeks and jaw.

Even though this product was only $4.99, I would only recommend it if you prefer a warm toned contour. For any cool toned girls, save your money for something else! You will either look orange, or you will have to blend so much that there will only be a tiny effect. I hope you enjoyed this review!

UPDATE: Remember how I said that some people broke out in rashes? I just washed off my makeup, and my skin is covered in dozens of tiny bumps in the areas where I put the highlighter shade. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

This looks amazing! Super easy to use, ive got a Freedom one, and I love it! I use it all the time. The only problem is, the lighter shade slings to my dry patches (I do have dry skin) Does yours do the same?xo

I used this product and broke out with a rash and a swollen face . Many others have too. I have never had this reaction with any kind of make-up.

I am so sorry that happened to you! It broke me out in a rash as well; I put that in the review. I really hope that people come across my post before buying the product so it doesn’t happen to them. 😦 How long did it take for your rash to clear up?
