Ipsy Glam Bag Review (January 2017)

Hello my lovely friends! I got my Ipsy Glam Bag in the mail a few days ago, and I’ve had a chance to test out all the products. Let’s dive right in!

Pictured above is the bag, along with everything I received inside of it. I’m not a fan of this month’s bag design, but it will be handy having another makeup bag in my drawer. You can never have too many!

Inside the bag was:

– Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask/Exfoliant by Pur Lisse (Travel size, $20)

– Base Smooth & Matte Primer by TEMPTU ($35)

-Bahama Mama Bronzer, Shadow, and Contour Powder by The Balm (Sample size; full size is $20.00)

– BLUSHIOUS Coconut & Rose Infused Cheek Color in Wildrose by Pacifica ($12)

– Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Concealer in Fair by IT Cosmetics ($24)

This was a nice range of products, and they were all in such cute packaging! I feel like they almost had a theme going, except for the Bahama Mama. All right, let’s take a look at the individual products.

I already have the Pur Lisse Blue Lotus moisturizer and love it, so I had a good feeling about this mud mask. It has all sorts of amazing ingredients such as bamboo, ginger, white tea, and mushroom extract. When I put it on my face, I was surprised to see that it was the color of my skin! All the mud masks I’ve used before are grey-ish in color; with this, you couldn’t tell I had it on unless you got up close. I would feel totally comfortable answering the door with this on, lol! Anyways, when I wore it I could feel it tightening my skin and it tingled a bit. I’m assuming the tingling sensation came from the ginger.. When I washed it off, my skin was so smooth and glowy! I LOVE this product.

My skin is very picky when it comes to primers, but thankfully it didn’t have any negative reactions to this one. It does a good job of keeping my skin matte and filling in my pores. It smells like rubbing alcohol, but if you can get past that it really is a quality primer.

I have never used any concealers that were specifically made for under-eye usage before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It comes out very paste-like, and is tacky on the skin. A little of this goes a long way! I was able to blend it in with my beauty blender, and then set it with some banana setting powder. I loved the finishing result, and will try to incorporate this into my daily makeup routine.

dsc_0318The packaging for this blush is so darn cute! I love the unicorn on the lid, and the swirled pattern in the pan. The blush is very buttery and shimmery, and it looks gorgeous on my skin. Very pleased with this one!

The pan size for this sample is ridiculously small; about the size of my thumb nail. That makes it very hard to apply as a bronzer, especially since I love to do my bronzer with a big fluffy brush. Thankfully, this also doubles as an eyeshadow, so this won’t be going to waste. Once you get past the impracticality of the small sample size, it actually is a quite nice shade, and I love that it is matte. Plus, it doesn’t give me an orangey look like some other bronzers I have tried.

Today, I used each of the products in my skincare and makeup routine. Here’s how it turned out!

I hope you enjoyed this review! I am currently trying to expand the boxes that I review; do you have any suggestions for subscriptions I should try?
